MUSIC: HayKay – Flex

Hakeem Bakare better knows by stage name HayKay, is an energetic recording artist, performer and songwriter hailing from Nigeria.

Born in the 90s, in Osun state Nigeria, Haykay started off with acting in his early age in primary school, doing school productions while living with his grandmother. His love for music grew when he moved to his biological mother’s home around the age of 10 and found his rythmn playing the drums. This same love for music made him somewhat of a legend in his school life, leading him to the class captaincy throughout his secondary school and even senior head boy in his final year. His popularity had gotten him recognition in his hometown and HayKay had decided to pursue music.

His career started in 2011 when he recorded his first single “Kama roll” while he was still in university. His first performance was at La Casera cold drink’s (one of the most prominent soft-drinks in Nigera) 10th anniversary in Ondo state Nigeria. Boosted by the appearance of his mom, he gave it his all and found himself booked to perform in so many University students parties in and around Nigeria. Because HayKay felt the music was calling him, he left the National Open University in Nigeria to pursue his dream of becoming a performing musician.

He is now in South Africa, chasing that dream and his latest single is Euphoria. HayKay will be starting 2017 with this fire single and be giving us fire performances and fire music videos from hereon.
